Meet our Captain

Rick

As a native Miamian I’ve been cycling in South Florida since the mid 80’s. I participated in a few road races without much success so instead stuck with cycling as exercise. I joined StormRiders in 2010 after riding with them one Saturday to Homestead Bayfront Park. I couldn’t wait to ride with them again after that.

We started a StormRiders group ride on Tuesday mornings from Blackpoint Marina. The small group got bigger and bigger so we started a Thursday morning group ride as well. Now the Tue/Thu rides regularly have over 30 cyclists including many local USAC racers. These rides have improved the stamina and endurance of many cyclists including myself.

I plan to continue the TSR tradition welcoming cyclists of all skill levels and supporting their development. As a team, StormRiders will focus on Fun, Fitness, and support of a number of charities including the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Patches PPEC, and others. Cycling safety and paceline etiquette is important to me and I believe as a team we can teach by example. Through education and awareness I’m also hoping that we’ll see less accidents and altercations with motorists.

As your captain I will do my best to help every StormRider reach their goals whether it’s a 10 mile ride to the park or a 100 mile century. The friendship and camaraderie we have as a team is unparalleled and is reinforced with every mile we pedal.

Ride Storm!
