* Pease register for the MS-160 in March 2014 under Team StormRiders soon. We need more riders and more fundraising to reach our goals!


 

RIDES: Week starting Sat 1/11/2014

Saturday

Pinecrest Gardens’ Library, SW 111 Street & 57 Avenue
7:30 AM departure
Route to be decided before rollout. Possible routes are:
to Black Point, 25 miles ====
to Homestead Bayfront Park ->47 miles (* Optional loop around speedway +6) ====
to La Casita (Redland grocery store) ->50 miles ====
to Robert’s ->60+ miles ====
* < 21 MPH, double pace line. Leave the earbuds home please; Recumbents are asked to stay at the back of the pace line!
*** Biscayne National Park is open however the store upstairs is closed until at least the end of the year. We will be going to Homestead Bayfront Park instead (right side at the entrance instead of left) so we can purchase drinks and snacks.

25 miles to Blackpoint and back.

7:30 departure – route to be decided then

Tuesday/ Thursday

Departs from Black Point Marina

Intermediate & Advanced
7:00 a.m. departure
Options for all levels of cyclists.
< 21 mph on the first lap around the speedway, 23-24 mph for the second lap, 26+ third lap.
Mileage: 28-40 miles depending on how many laps you do. Regroup at the flashing lights before heading back to Blackpoint.
This ride is for road cyclists. Strict pace line rules must be followed.
Recumbents NOT allowed in or around the pace line.

Grand Tours on the horizon:

2014

A new course this year for the Tour de Cure. It starts in Miami Beach and traverses through some of the most interesting neighborhoods in Miami.

Yes, they finally moved the MS Key Largo to early March – the earliest date in the 28 year history of the ride! The minimum fundraising amount has been lowered to $350.00 this time. This is a required StormRiders event!
